Job Description

Summary of Position

The Logistics Coordinator reports to the Branch Operations Manager. He/she will handle all many aspects of operations including, purchase orders (inter-company and vendor), inventory management and control, future equipment needs through Discos II and order processing.


  • Tracks and monitors purchase orders (inter-company and vendor) from original request to final invoicing.
  • Tracks and monitors branch inventory movement levels, reconditioning posting to insure they are properly maintained using the in-house order processing and logistics systems. Reports any discrepancies to the Branch Operations Manager.
  • Reviews future equipment needs through Discos II and Excel spreadsheets, comparing the total requirements against availability and entering inter-company or vendor purchases to reduce backorders.
  • Reviews the open order report daily and coordinates with the Branch Operations Manager.
  • Responsible for monitoring and completing the required paperwork for inbound and outbound containers.
  • Provides pricing of non-standard Doka USA products for the sales team as approved by the Corporate Logistics Coordinator.
  • Responsible for meeting the delivery schedule for ordered material being shipped to the customer job site.
  • Coordinates load scheduling, order picking and order fulfillment accuracy with the Branch Operations Manager.
  • Insures all unloading returns procedures are followed, including: photographing trucks, issuing a Discos II return number and unloading authorization ticket.
  • Responsible for maintaining daily company vehicle inspection records.
  • Insures truck drivers are licensed in accordance with the DOT requirements.
  • Insures trucks, trailers are loaded and secured in accordance with established procedures and do not exceed the height and weight requirements.

Other Responsibilities/Peripheral Functions

  • Other duties/projects as assigned; including participating in company committees/teams.
  • Assists in ensuring safe working practices and a safe working environment. 
  • Complies with all corporate policies and business practices.

Qualifications/Technical Proficiency

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business preferred, concentration in Finance, Controlling, Logistics or Traffic desired.
  • Experience in administration, operations or controlling preferred.
  • Facilitates projects and effectively manages multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills including an excellent command of English (speaking, reading, writing).
  • Qualitative abilities including strong analytical skills, technical proficiency and effective problem solving skills.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office applications; advanced Excel required.
  • Willing and able to learn new computer systems, products, concepts and techniques.
  • Organized team player able to work independently in a results-driven, fast-paced environment.

Problem Solving

This position requires the ability to support the branch operations function and resolve operations related issues on short notice with minimal information.


Extensive daily interaction with colleagues, management and external partners.  Communicates effectively with all levels of management both internally and externally.

This position requires the ability to think strategically and analytically.  Able to envision the broader picture and understand the impact of his/her accountabilities as they relate to the entire company. Position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and the ability to be organized and manage time to meet deadlines.

Working Conditions

Working conditions vary from that of an office environment: dry, cool, and well lit, to outside conditions (equipment yard), high noise level in certain areas and extreme outdoor temperatures.
